Happy Birthday Simon!

Today, we celebrated Simon's birthday (even though he brought his book on Friday...we just didn't have time). Simon brought The Secret Life of Squirrels by Nancy Rose. In this book, the author makes small sets and uses real squirrels. She takes the squirrels pictures with the props and then puts them to a story. The kids loved the idea of using real squirrels in the pictures. I know they are anxiously awaiting this book to be put on the shelf. We do not have any other books like it, so it will be a great addition to our library.

Happy Birthday Miriam!

On Thursday, we celebrated Miriam's birthday with her birthday book. She brought in Sofia the First: The Enchanted Feast. I know so many of the girls like Sofia the First, so I am sure they will all be wanting to look at the book once it hits the shelf. We do not have a ton of princess books, so this one will be a great addition to the ones we do have.

Happy Birthday Colin!

Today we celebrated Colin's birthday. Colin celebrated his birthday on January 2nd when we were gone on Christmas break, so we celebrated it today. Colin brought in two books, Lego Star Wars: A New Hope and Dolphin Tale 2: A Tale of Winter and Hope. We read the dolphin book today. The kids loved it because they all are very familiar with the movie and story. After the book, we brought up the live web-cam and got to see the live feed from the Clearwater Marine Aquarium of Winter and her trainers. The kids loved seeing her. We plan to read the other book another day this week.
