Happy Birthday Charlie!

Last Monday, we celebrated Charlie's birthday. She brought in three books. First, we read Winnie the Pooh: Pooh's Secret Garden. This was a lift the flap book and the kids had a great time trying to figure out what was going to be under each flap. Next, we read Pete the Cat: Cavecat Pete. The kids loved this book because it talks about some different dinosaurs. Almost all of the dinosaurs were ones that we studied when we did our dinosaur unit back in December. Lastly, we read Despicable Me: The World's Greatest Villain. The kids were very excited about this book because most of them have seen at least the first movie. All three books are great additions to our library.

Happy Birthday Audrina!

Today we celebrated Audrina's birthday. She brought in the book A Whale is Not a Fish and Other Animal Mix-Ups by Melvin Berger. This book is unlike any others we have. This books takes two very similar animals and tells how they are alike and how they are different. The kids had a great time learning about the differences. I even learned a few things while reading the book. It is a great addition to our library.
