Happy Birthday Nora P.!

Today we celebrated Nora P.'s birthday a day late. She brought in Pinkalicious: Puptastic! by Victoria Kann. This is an "I Can Read Stage 1" book which I love because the kids can read them by themselves with little to no help. These books really boost the students confidence in their reading ability. The students loved listening to how Pinkalicious was able to make friends with the neighbors dog Pinky.

Happy Birthday Lola!

Today we celebrated Lola's 7th birthday. She brought in the book Please, Mr. Panda by Steve Antony. The book was about a panda bear who has a box of doughnuts. Different animals asked for a doughnut and he would not give them one. Finally, a raccoon asked for a doughnut and he got one. The difference with how the raccoon asked was that he said "Please." This was a perfect book for today. For Monday Manners, we are talking about the importance of saying please and thank you. These are three little words that can make a big difference.

Happy Birthday Cameron!

We have gotten off to a great start this school year. The kids are doing a great job getting into the every day routines. Today we celebrated Cameron's 7th birthday. He brought in the book Blaze and the Monster Machiens: Zeg and the Egg. This is a "Step-Into-Reading" book which I love. It is easy for the kids to read by themselves and keeps their attention. The kids loved listening to the first birthday book of the school year.
